Dolpha STRETCH Joiner

Dolpha was born on July 25, 1957, to J.D. and Mamie Ruth Davison Joiner. He was a proud graduate of R.L. McDougald High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and built the foundation for his future endeavors. Dolpha (Stretch) married the love of his life, Mary Glenn Dugger, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church in Butler, GA. He participated with many choirs, sharing his love for music through heartfelt songs such as "Oh Mary Don't You Weep" and "Traveling Shoes." Dolphins passed away peacefully at his home in Butler, GA on May 25, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Dolphins was preceeded in death by his parents, J.D. Joiner and Mamie Ruth Davison Joiner; three brothers, James, Tyrone, and Larry Joiner; and two sisters, Arbie Belle McCrary and Evangelist Mary Ross. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Mary Joiner, and his children: Sherri Walker (Johnny Hamilton) of Ellaville, GA; Constance (Edward) Fuller of Fort Valley, GA; Jarvis Dugger and Renada Joiner both of Butler, GA; and Dontavious Lowe of Fort Valley, GA. Dolphins is also survived by his grandchildren, including eight whom raised as his own: Danquvous ( Kiyah) Joiner, Shakira Montfort, Kevin Montfort, Dessiah Searcy, Asian Joiner, Qumesha Corbin, Quin Daniel's, and Sherdica Peter's. Siblings: One brother, Cephus (Katie) Montfort of Warner Robins, GA; and four sisters: Gwendolyn Hart of Atlanta, GA; Tonnie Walker and Tawonda Joiner both of Butler, GA; and Shandra Corbin of Reynolds, GA. Dolphus's memories are cherished by his brother-in-law and sister-in-laws: Jody (Mary Nell) Dugger of Roberta, GA; Helen Mathis of Fort Valley, GA; Betty Davis of Macon, GA; Bobby Dugger of Butler, GA; Jimmy (Martha) Dugger of Jacksonville, FL; Dortha (Johnny) Jenkins; Frank Dugger all of Butler, GA; Henry (Helen) Dugger of Warner Robins, GA; and Louise (Freddie) Gibson of Roberta, GA; Easter (Felton) Talton of Reynolds, GA; and Alice Joiner of Butler, GA. He will also deeply missed by his friends, including Maxine Dixon, Amazing Jenkins, Reginald Carter Jr., Reginald Stinson, Tim Harvey, Johnny Jenkins Jr., and Sherman Nelson Sr., all of Butler, GA., and E.J. Poteat of Atlanta, GA. Dolpha's (Stretch) legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memories will be cherished forever by his family, friends, and community.
