Kenneth Turner

Kenneth Turner was born on October 25, 1954, to M W and Matida Dean Turner. He joined 8 older siblings, with 3 younger siblings soon to follow. The Turner siblings was raised in a small town, once boasting a population of 900, (now estimated at 399) but it is still home to the Turner siblings. Kenneth and his siblings grew up the usual spats and make-up, but always loving each other. At an early age, Kenneth accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at Faith Memorial Church where he worshiped all his childhood. Kenneth and his wife, Linda eventually moved their church home to White Hill Baptist Church in Reynolds, Georgia, where both remained faithful members until their deaths. Upon graduating high school, Kenneth pursued a college education at Fort Valley State College. Kenneth met and fell with his first wife, Linda Ogburn Turner, who preceded him in death. The union of Kenneth and Linda Turner produced one amazing child, Kimberly Turner Carson. Kenneth and his daughter, Kimberly, shared a strong and beautiful bond, they truly love each other. They helped each other wade through a river of grief when they lost Linda Ogburn Turner, 2011. They supported each other and continued to support each other throughout the years with whatever life trials they encountered. Kenneth and Kimberly also celebrated the joys that life brought, like the birth of his precious and beautiful grandchildren, Mason Kenneth Carson and Logan Marie Carson, Kenneth loved Kimberly, Marice, Mason, and Logan. Kenneth loved all his family, and we all loved him. In addition to church and community life, Kenneth was a faithful worker and a positive contributor to the community. As life progressed God gifted Kenneth with a second wife and life partner, Ernestine Willis Turner. Kenneth was blessed to have Ernestine by his side as he lived a new chapter of life, enjoying becoming a part of her family. Earnestine and Kenneth continued to worship with White Hill Baptist Church and Rocky Mount Baptist church. As God's servant at White Hill Baptist Church, Deacon Kenneth was Assistant Chairman of the Deacon Board, serve on the finance committee, choir president and Chairman of the safety committee. As a Deacon, he also served as an Assistant Deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church. Kenneth maintained loving relationships with lifelong friends and relatives, often being the Turner spokesperson and protector. This man would have walked barefoot to aid his sisters and brothers. We knew we was loved by Kenneth Turner. Kenneth was a dedicated employee at Blue Bird Body Company in Fort Valley, Georgia retiring after 11 years. He previously worked at Wander Lodge RV Experimental for 16 years, receiving 47 years of employment in the bus manufacturing industry. Kenneth was called the family 'Peacemaker' At home, Kenneth loved sports and was phenomenal sports commentator. He loved history and politics and shared his knowledge with others. The fun, laughter, and happiness he gave his family, friends, and community, especially his wife, Earnestine, his daughter, Kimberly Carson, Marice Carson(son-in=law), and grandchildren, Mason Kenneth Carson and Logan Marie Carson. Kenneth never met a stranger. Everyone, in the world was considered, 'just a friend he hasn't met yet'. He always saw the good in people. Sometimes that's all he would see, even if no one else could see it. He was a kind and generous to a fault, if someone was in trouble, he did what he could to help. He was a "jazzy dresser" and could rival a GQ model. Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Turner, his parents, MW and Matilda Turner, his older brothers, MW Turner Jr., Barney Turner, Will Arthur Turner, Clinton Turner, and his beloved sister, Grace Turner Davis. It gives us peace and comfort to imagine the Turner reunion happening in heaven right now. Kenneth is survived by his second wife, Earnestine Willis Turner, (who gave him love and joy during his second phase of life), by his loving daughter, Kimberly (Marice) Carson Sr. and their children, Mason and Logan Carson, (all from Conyers, Ga.) by his brothers, Douglas Turner, (Marva Grace Turner) (Jerome Turner (Marva Turner); by his sisters, Shirley McLean, (Curtis) Mary T. Maynard, (Jerry), Peggy Clay and Debra Turner; his in-laws, Charlie Frank Willis, Mary W. Mathis of Roberta, Georgia, Brenda (James) Spearman of Fairburn, Gayle Willis of Riverdale, Georgia, Frank Aaron Willis of Detroit, Michigan. A close friend, Lewis Richardson of Fort Valley, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. "To the man I love, Kenneth Turner" From your baby, wife, lover, and best friend, Earnestine, I will always love you. I will miss you calling me, "Baby", and most of all, your smile, honesty, faith in God, patience, contentment with what you had, and humility. You will forever be in my heart, as a man I hold in the highest standards and moral principles. I am grateful to God for allowing us to spend our years together as husband and wife. Until we meet again, I just want to say, "Kenneth, I love you".
